Grades 8-12
Electives are available on Monday nights, as well as Wednesday evenings, and Sunday afternoon. Electives are open ALL students in grades 8-12, even if you are not registered in Havaya or Bagrut in our Senior School. Please review the list, and choose one or more of the following electives for the first term:

Work together on an original play with students working on music, script, and design. All aspiring actors invited!

Chevruta study with our Rabbis

The rabbis knew of four sexes, and understood that gender could be fluid. This
chance to do serious guided study in pairs will explore how Jews have answered the hard questions about how we relate to and respect our bodies and our minds. Grades 8-12

ocial Justice: How Can We Get Engaged?
We will discuss teen initiatives in poverty, faith, first nations, and more. This elective will include hands-on visits, activities and action.
Hadracha - Teen Leadership
Being a leader is a skill. Join us to learn the pathways toward leadership development, and assist in planning for our youth activities, Shabbat break-out groups, student teaching and more.

Guitar playing and Song leading
with David Gershon
From novice to expert – this elective will meet your needs. Join David as he teaches the basics and most challenging parts of guitar playing and song/service leading. No experience necessary!

Become a Service Leader at HBT with Cantorial Soloist Lindi Rivers
Develop your leadership skills for life by preparing to lead ma’ariv service. Understanding the significance of being a “messenger” for the congregation and studying the texts will help you discover and grow the leader in you. Build confidence and inner strength – bring out the very best in yourself!

U Can Ukulele
at Holy Blossom Temple
The uke craze is back --and it’s coming to Holy Blossom. Come on out
and have some fun learning to play Jewish songs – old and new – on your uke. The ukulele is a wonderful instrument for beginners and it is a perfect springboard to the guitar. Each person must bring his or her own ukulele. No experience necessary. Intermediate and experienced players are most welcome.
